Buenas yan Håfa adai!

The establishment of the department by P. L. 25-69 became a monumental success for our people. Today, we have a government entity that recognizes and advocates the perpetuation, promotion, and the preservation of our Chamorro heritage. More can be done with the development of such a department, but like always, at its infancy, it will grow and incorporate other facets of our Chamorro traditions and values.

As you explore into this site, into your department, you will share with us our accomplishments and our future projects. You will also share in the discussion towards the improvement of our preservation and perpetuation efforts. Yes, you will be a part of the growth of the Department of Chamorro Affairs. You are welcome into the department. Its the Chamorro way, the Pacific way.

the 19th guam Micronesia Island Fair
photo of Fair poster The 19th Guam Micronesian Island Fair, celebrated during the Memorial Day weekend at the Ypao Beach Park, welcomed nearly 10,000 visitors from all sectors of the community. The event was a collaborative effort of the Department of Chamorro Affairs, the Guam Visitor's Bureau, the Guam Council on Arts and Humanities (CAHA), along with other government of Guam agencies. Mandated by public law, the event featured the many cultural expressions from the various islands of the Micronesia region.
The colorful pageantry of the dances and the display of many cultural arts brought the islands of Micronesia together into one venue that was enjoyed by all. We look forward to the 20th Anniversary of the Guam Micronesia Island Fair.
